Simplicity Is The Key

The Simplicity Lifestyle as well as Spirituality urges Us to look at Our own truth.

Truth is found in Simplicity and Silence.

“I am not my thoughts, emotions, sense perceptions, and experiences. I am not the content of my life. I am Life. I am the space in which all things happen. I am consciousness. I am the Now. I Am.”

“Stillness Speaks” by Eckhart Tolle

Truthfulness is immediately recognized. We feel it right down to Our very Core.

We must say Our truth with kindness, but fully and completely. Live Our truth, gently, but totally and consistently. Change Our truth easily and quickly when Our experience brings Us new clarity.

“When life becomes too complicated and we feel overwhelmed, it’s often useful just to stand back and remind ourselves of our overall purpose, our overall goal. When faced with a feeling of stagnation and confusion, it may be helpful to take an hour, an afternoon, or even several days to simply reflect on what it is that will truly bring us happiness, and then reset our priorities on the basis of that. This can put our life back in proper context, allow a fresh perspective, and enable us to see which direction to take.”

- “The Art of Happiness” by Dalai Lama

Every action that We take is based in Love or Fear.

Fear is the pessimistic energy which contracts, closes down, draws in, runs, hides, hoards, competes, and harms.

Love is the optimistic energy which expands, opens up, sends out, stays, reveals, shares, collaborates, and heals.

Fear wraps Our bodies in clothing and armor, Love allows Us to stand naked and vulnerable. Fear clings to and clutches all that We have, Love gives all that We have away. Fear holds close, Love holds dear. Fear grasps, Love lets go. Fear rankles, Love soothes. Fear attacks, Love amends.

Every thought, word, and deed We have is based in one emotion or the other. We have no choice about this, because there is nothing else from which to choose.

We live in a World of dichotomy between Fear and Love, life and death, order and chaos, Yin and Yang, and as humans We have free choice about which of them to select.

We must remember that each side of the coin harbors a bit of the other side though.

Karma is created when We preform actions that take Us from one side to the other and back again, but something changes when We see the connection between two seemingly opposing sides. We realize that there’s no point because it’s the same coin, so We begin to work on balancing the two through meditation, silence, and stillness.

We understand that We’ve created most of Our problems so We stop being the snake that’s eating its own tail and learn to just Be.

The simple secret to Life is to simply enjoy Life.

“Simplicity is the Key to living a life that is Joyful and Free.”

-“The Simplicity Lifestyle” by Ted Wind

Living a Joyful life means to be happy with what We have, who We are, and where We are. It is respecting the reality of the present. It is appreciating what We do have and where We are in life.

Consciously existing in the eternally unfolding moment and being in the infinite Universe is enough.

“Mindfulness meditation teaches you to recognise memories and damaging thoughts as they arise. It reminds you that they are memories. They are like propaganda, they are not real. They are not you. You can learn to observe negative thoughts as they arise, let them stay a while and then simply watch them evaporate before your eyes. And when this occurs, an extraordinary thing can happen: a profound sense of happiness and peace fills the void.”

-“Mindfulness” by Mark Williams and Danny Penman

A Universe that is not experienced seems like a huge waste of space-time.

We are quite literally the Universe experiencing Itself through Itself.

“Non attachment is not an apathetic mindset rather it refers to seeing everything from a broader perspective and appreciating All manifestations without becoming attached to a particular One.”

-“The Dreamer Awakens” by Ted Wind

Our experiencing of the Universe gives meaning and beauty to It.

Mindful meditation is the practice of being in the moment without judgement, just conscious attention.

“The greatest thing We can do in Life is help Others. Understanding is the highest Goal of communication.  What’s really being said will be understood when We are open to understanding it.”

-“The Dreamer and The Dream Catcher” by Ted Wind

Consciousness is the qualitative feeling of existing and attention is the light We shine that creates Our Realities.

Awakening happens when We realize We are much more than mechanical electrochemical reactions happening in brains.

We are the creators of Our realities, and life can show up no other way for Us than that way in which We think it will.

We can be Love, Joy, Kindness, Truth, Compassion, and Nirvana.

After being Nirvana for a quick eternal moment We come back to the human drama with new awakened eyes.

We are no longer slaves to Our circumstances. We can intentionally choose to act in accordance with Our Core Values.

True Happiness, Joy, doesn’t come from how many possessions We’ve acquired.

“All big things come from small beginnings. The seed of every habit is a single, tiny decision. But as that decision is repeated, a habit sprouts and grows stronger. Roots entrench themselves and branches grow. The task of breaking a bad habit is like uprooting a powerful oak within us. And the task of building a good habit is like cultivating a delicate flower one day at a time.”

-Atomic Habits” by James Clear

Pleasure is the short term gratification of wants that usually have consequences.

Joy comes from having healthy habits and healthy relationships.

Showing up for the ones We Love is The Most important thing We can do in Life.

“By removing the physical distractions around us, we’re able to look inside ourselves and begin the process of mental, emotional, psychological, and spiritual decluttering.”

-Love People Use Things” by The Minimalists

Having a negative attitude is like having a flat tire, We can’t keep going until We change it.

Transcending Our limitations is an optimistic mindset.

When We live Our lives by intentional choice We are consciously living. When We live Our lives by reacting to chance occurrences We are unconsciously living.

We are in charge of creating the life We want to live.

Intentionality is the key to building the life We truly want to live.

“Essentialism is not about how to get more things done; it’s about how to get the right things done. It doesn’t mean just doing less for the sake of less either. It is about making the wisest possible investment of your time and energy in order to operate at our highest point of contribution by doing only what is essential.”

-“Essentialism” by Greg McKeown

Time to organize Our lives into something Our future selves will be proud of.

We can be free to live a life dedicated to love, compassion, kindness, truth, meaning, and gratitude.

To become free We must escape the Human Rat Race and join the Dance of Life.

“Minimalism is a tool we use to live a meaningful life. There are no rules. Rather, minimalism is simply about stripping away the unnecessary things in your life so you can focus on what’s important”

-“Minimalism” by The Minimalists

Freedom from the Rat Race means freedom from being forced to work for Our basic physical needs. As long as We are not free from that We will be slaves to the system.

No one has ever become Wealthy and gained Financial Independence by spending their hard earned income on unnecessary things.

“We buy things we don't need with money we don't have to impress people we don't like.”

-“The Total Money Makeover” by Dave Ramsey

Less is more because if We’re happier with less it takes less to make Us happy.

“It is not that we have a short time to live, but that we waste a lot of it. Life is long enough, and a sufficiently generous amount has been given to us for the highest achievements if it were all well invested. But when it is wasted in heedless luxury and spent on no good activity, we are forced at last by death’s final constraint to realize that it has passed away before we knew it was passing.”

-“Things That Matter” by Joshua Becker

Minimalism is a simple path to happiness and wealth.

It’s possible to change from a consumer driven lifestyle to a minimalist wealthbuilding lifestyle.

We can build wealth instead of spending it. We can create happiness without self sabotaging it.

“The secret of getting ahead is getting started. The secret of getting started is breaking your complex overwhelming tasks into small, manageable tasks, and then starting on the first one.”

-“Getting Things Done” by David Allen

The secret to accomplishing almost anything is to create a goal, make a plan, and take action.

Minimalism is the practice of being intentional with what We allow to stay in Our lives and what We allow into our lives.

Minimalists only keep the things that truly add value to Our lives.

Minimalism helps Us Clear away the clutter so We can see what is truly important.

Minimalism helps Us see that the most important things in life aren’t even things.

Minimalism allows Us to live a life with purpose, priority, and productivity.

Minimalism says We don’t have to accept the status quo and live a consumer driven lifestyle.

The meaning of life is to build a meaningful life.

When Our basic needs have been taken care of We are free to build a meaningful life by pursuing what brings Us Joy.

Trying to find Our Joy without knowing Our Core Values is like trying to find something in a pitch black room and not knowing what it is We’re looking for.

If Our work aligns with Our Core Values and brings Us Joy, it’s no longer a job it’s Our passion.

To find Our Joy, Our passion, We must quiet Our minds so that Our Innermost Self, Our Soul, can be heard.

My Joyful existence may be very different than yours but the Goal is the same because Love brings Us closer to Our true selves.

That’s the simple point to living The Simplicity Lifestyle.

We are able to discover, learn, and grow on Our own so We May embody Our Truth.

“Don’t wait to start living. Live now! Your life should be real in this very moment.”

-“You are Here” by Thich Nhat Hanh

Always remembering that We are Here, in an infinite universe, and Now, in an eternally unfolding moment and that is enough.
